The casting notes for Star Wars: Episode VII are circulating around fansites today. These new notes were posted on a casting website and call for teens and a ‘military type’ man.
According to SchmoesKnow, which was the same site that posted last week’s casting breakdown, the new breakdown appeared on breakdownservices.com Tuesday morning. It calls for seven actors for a Disney/LucasFilm/Bad Robot production that’s slated to start shooting in the U.K. in early 2014. It doesn’t specifically say Star Wars, but based on what Abrams has said, that’s when he expects Episode VII to start shooting.
BleedingCool has also published the casting list, claiming that it is “100 percent confirmed.”
The list only includes two female characters. The first young girl is in her late teens and “Physically fit, independent and with a great sense of humor.” The second woman is also in her late teens and “tough, smart.”
As for the men, one is “not classically handsome,” but “witty and smart.” Another man in his late 20s is “handsome,” but also “confident.” One man in his 40s is “military type,” while a man in his 30s is “an intellectual.” Finally, there’s a man in his 70s, who is “Tough and opinionated.”
All the young characters have one thing in common - they are “physically fit.” So, note to all young actors hoping to get a role in Episode VII: stay away from fast food.
According to Deadline, the casting directors on Episode VII are April Webster, Alyssa Weisberg and Nina Gold.
Episode VII is being written by Michael Arndt and Abrams is directing.
