The cast of the Veronica Mars movie continues to get bigger. More and more original castmembers of the cult show, which is getting a movie thanks to a Kickstarter project, have joined the film.

The latest to come aboard is Tina Majorino, who played Cindy “Mac” Mackenzie in the series and Deb in Napoleon Dynamite. She currently stars on Grey’s Anatomy. According to Entertainment Weekly, the news was confirmed by creator Rob Thomas in a letter sent to the film’s Kickstarter backers.

“To say I wrote Mac with Tina in mind would be an understatement,” Thomas wrote. “I wrote Mac for Tina, and Tina only. Veronica needed a female friend, and a Q to her Bond. Tina felt like just the sort of girl that Veronica would like and respect. I couldn’t be more pleased that she’ll be with us for the movie.”

According to The Huffington Post, on Wednesday, more castmembers signed on. Daran Norris, Amanda Noret and Sam Huntington all signed on this week to reprise their roles. Jason Dohring, Chris Lowell, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, Christine Lakin and Enrico Colantoni will also be back.

Of course, Kristen Bell is returning to play the title character. Bell has been instrumental in getting the Veronica Mars film off the ground since the Kickstarter project raised $2 million in record time. The project eventually reached over $5 million when it ended in April.

Veronica Mars, a property owned by Warner Bros., will hit theaters in early 2014.
