Instagram has added a video feature to their popular app, now users can make 15-second clips and customize them with 13 different filters.
Instagram co-founder Kevin Systrom introduced the new feature Thursday according the Hollywood reporter. "We need to do to video what we did to photos," he said. "We teamed up with a handful of the world's leading video scientists and created something really awesome.” The video supposedly does not suffer from the shakiness that occurs while filming on a phone, "Gorgeous, stabilized video for your iphone," He said.
The feature is the new competitor for Twitters similar app Vine, where you can create six-second videos and post them on other social media sites. However co-founder Mike Krieger says they have been working on video capabilities for two years, before Instagram was even released according to ABC news. "When we decided to work on Instagram, we took the best parts from that project and created Instagram," he said. "But we left video on the shelf. All we're doing today is bringing it back into the product."
