Miley Cyrus's new single, "We Can't Stop, which has ruled the iTunes chart since its debut last week, was reportedly intended for another pop diva--Rihanna.

According to MTV, producer Mike Will Made It said he worked on the song for Rihanna's latest album, "Unapologetic."

"The idea was more towards Rihanna," he said. "And then Rihanna, she heard [her "Unapologetic" track] "Pour It Up," and then she got on "Pour It Up" right away."

The song was then given to Cyrus, since Mike Will believed the song's more mature subject matter might be a good fit for the star's new direction in her music.

The mature material isn't the only thing Miley's changing about her career. In promotion of her new single, Access Hollywood shared album artwork Cyrus had tweeted. Dressed in a low-cut bodysuit and posing provocatively, Cyrus has clearly moved on from her "Hannah Montana" days.

"Of course, I want people to love my music," Cyrus told MTV. "But it's like, at the end of the day, I make music for me. I make music 'cause I love it and I know, like I said, I put good energy into it."
