Philip Seymour Hoffman has lined up another film, the thriller Child 44. The project already stars Tom Hardy, Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman and Joel Kinnaman.

According to Deadline, Summit Entertainment is producing the film with Worldview Entertainment. Daniel Espinosa is directing from a script by Richard Price. It is based on the best selling novel written by Tom Rob Smith. Ridley Scott is a co-prodcuer through his Scott Free banner.

Child 44 takes place in the Soviet Union while Stalin is still ruling. Hardy is a member of the Soviet secret police investigating child murders, but the authorities are suspicious that there is actualyl a serial killer on the loose.

Production starts on June 10 in Prague.

Hoffman will next be seen on the screen in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire on Nov. 22. The Oscar winner earned another Oscar nomination for 2012’s The Master.
