Snoop Dogg performed at a party for 21st Century Fox and Dreamworks Animation’s, Turbo.
Snoop Dogg performed a new song, “Let the Bass Go,” which is off of the upcoming film’s soundtrack in downtown Los Angeles. Snoop Dogg, who now goes by Snoop Lion occasionally, is the voice of a blinged-out snail named Smoove Move according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“It has to be fun. Everything in my life had to be about me having fun whether that’s music, movies, everything,” Snoop said.
The event was for attendees of the E3 gaming convention. Turbo stars Michael Peña and Michelle Rodriguez were also at the event.
According to the Los Angeles Times Turbo is set to release nationwide on July 17. The movie is about a snail, Turbo voiced by Ryan Reynolds, who dreams of becoming in the Indy 500 but he is too slow – until an accident gives him super-speed.
Turbo seems to be marketed towards children but appeals to the adult audience as well with the movie’s tag line, “He’s fast. They’re furious>, and with Snoop Dogg featured in the soundtrack.
“I wanted a song with a lot of energy, that was high-paced, that could attract the kids, make them feel good about hearing it, and want to dance to it,” Snoop said.
