It’s been months since reports surfaced that Britney Spears is going to do a Las Vegas residency and she still hasn’t officially confirmed it. But reports say that it's still going to happen.

According to insiders for Perez Hilton, Spears told her conservatorship judge in a 45-minute session Monday that she is “excited” about the prospects of performing at the Planet Hollywood Casino & Hotel in Vegas. Spears said that it is currently being scheduled for later this year. She “assured” the judge that “she could handle the stress and felt comfortable with the performance schedule.”

The insider claimed that rehearsals already started and that she will not move to Vegas permanently. Instead, the former X-Factor judge will perform for a few weeks in a row, then take a break before returning to the stage. “The judge was impressed with how happy and excited Britney was,” the insider said.

However, TMZ’s sources claim that Spears didn’t really mention the Vegas residency to the judge this week. Still, the site says that the judge has approved the idea.

“It's not your father's Shania Twain concert,” TMZ’s source said about Spears’ planned shows. The show will not be the same every night and Spears may even change locations for the shows at the resort. It should be officially announced in the coming weeks.

Spears’ manager said in February that she was in talks for a Vegas residency and Caesars Entertainment later confirmed that.

It sounds like it’s only a matter of time before Spears and Caesars finally make the deal.
