Chris Brown’s probation has just been revoked.

According to TMZ, the controversial rapper appeared in court Monday to discuss charges stemming from an alleged hit and run. Brown remains on probation following the 2009 beating of then girlfriend Rihanna, and has found himself on thin ice with the legal system after prosecutors claimed he failed to submit proper documentation for community hours he allegedly worked.

At the time, his hours stirred controversy with the D.A. calling his submission “at best sloppy.”

The alleged hit and run occurred back in May. Brown took to Twitter to clear his name after the woman driving proclaimed that Brown failed to give her proper identification and insurance information.

The judge opted to revoke his probation in the wake of the hit and run charges, if convicted he could face up to year four years in prison.
Brown is slated to appear back in court in August and was not arrested during his appearance today.
