President George H.W. Bush recently shaved his head to support the two-year-old son of a member of his Secret Service detail who has leukemia.

Other members of President Bush’s Secret Service team have also shaved their heads in a show of support.

President Bush said ‘“it was very easy for him to do,”’ spokesman Jim McGrath told CBS News.com .

President Bush is no stranger to the battle with leukemia. His daughter, Robin Bush, died from leukemia approximately 60 years ago.

The President’s Office says that the boy’s name is Patrick. His family requested to withhold his last name for privacy.

The president’s Secret Service members created a website called Patrick’s Pals to help raise money for Patrick’s medical care.

Patrick's Pals will have a 50-mile bike ride next month on August 10 to help raise money. The bike ride will start at the American Legion Hall and end at Kennebunkport.

The registration fee is $25. There will be an auction after the ride as well.
Patrick’s Pals’ website lists a phone number on its website for questions or donations for the silent auction.
