The most recent installment of the James Bond series, Skyfall, was a critical and financial success domestically and internationally. The ending of the film promised that 007 would return. As a result, it did not take very long for the news to be announced when exactly James Bond would be returning.
The new James Bond film will be released in theaters in November 2015. Daniel Craig will reprise his role as James Bond for the fourth time, while the director of Skyfall, Sam Mendes will return to direct the film. According to MTV News , this will be his second consecutive time he will be the leading man behind the camera. John Logan, one of the last film’s co-writers will also return to develop and write the script for the next upcoming chapter in the Bond franchise. IGN is reporting that Mendes is very happy to be reuniting with familiar actors and a familiar staff.
The announcement that was made earlier this month made fans of the long-running franchise very happy because after the generally positive reaction of Skyfall, people were hoping that the same staff would return for another film. Skyfall is the most financially successful James Bond film in the franchise; it made over $300 million domestically at the box office while the film brought in over $800 million at the worldwide box office to bring Skyfall’s grand total gross to over a billion dollars. This was a very impressive run for the latest entry in the 007 franchise, and before you know it, we will have another exciting entry in the James Bond franchise.
