Chris Reynolds got the biggest shock in his life when he checked his monthly PayPal statement on Friday.

The monthly statement that he received via email said that his account had a jaw-dropping balance of $92,233,720,368,547,800.

Reynolds and his wife own a public-relations firm called Reynolds Ink.
He simply uses the account to buy and sell items on eBay. His PayPal account normally has a zero balance.

If that really had been his actual balance, he would have been the wealthiest man on the entire planet by a wide margin.

"I'm a very responsible guy," he told The Philadelphia Daily News . "I would pay the national debt down first. Then I would buy the Phillies, if I could get a great price."

He decided to log into his PayPal account to verify his balance. That is when he saw that his account balance was still zero, which is what it should have been.

"This is obviously an error and we appreciate that Mr. Reynolds understood this was the case," PayPal said in a statement.

PayPal plans to donate an unspecified amount of money to a charity of Reynolds’ choosing.
