We Came As Romans (WCAR), melodic metalcore band, have released their third album Tracing Back Roots off of Equal Vision Records July 23.

Tracing Back Roots is a great blend of clean and unclean vocals. Kyle Pavone’s clean vocals pair perfectly with the angry backing of unclean vocalist, David Stephens. Making this album the perfect melodic metalcore release.

Each track focuses on the difficulties of growing up and life on the road. It is a soundtrack for the lost teen. It is hope to move on.

The only thing missing from the album is a hard-hitting breakdown. The tracks flow nicely together but to maintain the metalcore piece of the genre there must be at least one breakdown to break it up. The hardest this album gets is the opening track, “Tracing Back Roots.”

The band also released a music video for the track “Hope.” This track is the basis of the album. It is an anthem for every WCAR fan and potential fan, which will likely grow after hearing the album.

WCAR rocks like Memphis May Fire. If you are curious about Tracing Back Roots, check out the track “Ghosts.” Catch We Came As Romans this summer on the main stage at the Vans Warped Tour.
