Selena Gomez just celebrated her 21st birthday and now the former Disney star can celebrate her first number one album on the Billboard 200 charts.
Gomez’s Stars Dance beat out the likes of Jay Z’s Magna Carta and the soundtrack to Teen Beach Movie, selling 97, 000 last week Reuters reports. This is the first time the “Come and Get It” singer has landed at the top, although a handful of her albums with “The Scene” landed in the top 10.
Entertainment Weekly reports that Marc Anthony’s Spanish 3.0 came in number three, behind Jay’s Magna Carta which previously held the number one spot, followed by We Come as Romans’ Tracing Back Roots.
Gomez celebrated her success by sharing a photo on Instagram of herself, her backup dancers and new baby sister Gracie. “#1! From the Stars Dance tour and lil G... THANK YOU” she wrote.
This week Gomez has to compete with One Direction’s “Best Song Ever” and Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines.”
