Disney Channel has some pretty good original movies. While they aren’t works of art, they can make you laugh and make you cry. While I’m not saying that all of the Disney Channel movies are wonderful (I’m looking at you, Harriet the Spy: Blog Wars) but there are a few standouts.

The first Disney Channel movie was in 1997 called Northern Lights. Since then, there have been 96 films, including one that was released July 19, 2013. The films have ranged from emotional dramas, to comedies to even a few musicals. The Disney Channel hasn’t shown as many new original movies because, in 2013, only one has been made.

Below are the top ten original movies.

10. ’Read it and Weep’ (2006)

Winning a writing contest and becoming an overnight celebrity doesn’t seem that bad. But in this Disney film, it is. It tells the story of a high school girl who has her journal go viral. It’s fun to see her break apart and then put all the pieces together.
