The cast for MGM and Fox 2000’s reboot of the horror classic Poltergeist is shaping up. Mad Men’s Jared Harris and The Following child star Kyle Catlett have joined Rosemarie DeWitt and Sam Rockwell. Perks of Being A Wallflower actor Nicholas Braun is in talks for a role.

Harris’ casting was confirmed on Wednesday by Deadline. The Sherlock Holmes actor, who also appeared in Lincoln, was also in the news earlier this week after he joined The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. He will star as Carrigan, the host of Haunted House Cleaners and a former academic.

According to Variety, Catlett, who appears in Fox’s The Following, will be a member of the Bowen family that is terrorized by ghosts. The heads of the Bowen household will be played by DeWitt and Rockwell.

TheWrap reported that Braun is being courted to play a skeptical grad student who documents the investigation into the Bowen home. The more he learns, the more he begins to believe in the horrors taking place.

Poltergeist was first filmed in 1982 by director Tobe Hooper and producer/co-writer Steven Spielberg. Gil Kenan is directing the reboot with David Lindsay-Abaire. Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert as producers.

MGM is currently in a remake mood, with a Carrie remake hitting theaters next month and a Robocop remake in the works.
