Condoleezza Rice is known as the former Secretary of State under former President George Bush’s presidency, making tough political decisions, but it seems she has moved on to something much more political: football.
Early October, CBSCBS reported Rice as a candidate for the NCAA football Playoff Selection Committee, to decide which college teams will play for 2014, with inside information that she would be selected due to an anonymous tip from someone directly related to the selection process.
Well the anonymous tip was right; just a few hours ago Rice was selected to be included into the committee. “Condi definitely earned her spot on this committee…Obviously, part of this is going to be the ability to make judgments under scrutiny, and Condi has that,” Hancock said according to Washington Times.
I think it will be interesting to see how Rice does in this setting and I think it is amazing to have a woman on the selection committee. Rice has stated previously that she is a sports fan whether it is college playing or pro and is currently a professor at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
Can you imagine what the discussions for selection will be like; will it be as tense as a congressional meeting or less?
