Actress Jennifer Ehle is in talks with Universal Pictures and Focus Features to play Anastasia Steele's mother, Carla, in the Fifty Shades of Grey film adaptation.
Deadline has exclusively revealed the actress might be joining the cast and playing the lead character's mother. The character of Carla is depicted as strong and in her fourth marriage.
Ehle's acting credits include Zero Dark Thirty, The King's Speech and appears in the RoboCop reboot.
The news comes a little over a month after Dakota Johnson and Charlie Hunnam were cast for the title roles of Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey.
Since being cast as the male lead, the Sons of Anarchy star has been receiving lingerie at his house, Entertainmentwise reports. His L.A. neighbor told The Daily Star, "We've seen frilly knickers, bras and even stockings left at his door by some fans of the book as they try to get his attention."
The neighbor added, "It has been very odd. I've never seen anything quite like it."
