Michael Hastings last book is going to be published posthumously in 2014.

Michael Hastings was an award-winning journalist who died in a car crash in June. He was a contributing writer for Rolling Stone and Buzzfeed. He is best known for "The Runaway General," a profile on General Stanley McChrystal.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that publisher Blue Rider Press announced on Friday that it would be publishing Hastings' The Last Magazine in summer 2014.

The book is a novel about the protagonist Michael M. Hastings, starting out at a national magazine just before the Iraq War. In a release, Blue Rider Press said The Last Magazine is "funny, biting and fast-paced" and "a roman a clef."

According to The New York Times, the 33-year-old had told few about the novel. The only people who knew was his wife Elise Jordan and some family members and close friends.

In an email, Elise said, "I read 'The Last Magazine' shortly after Michael's death and found solace in the rush of his trademark candor and insight."
