It's been quite some time since audiences have seen their favorite serial killer Jason Voorhees slicing up teenagers at camp crystal lake. 2009 is when the masked menace was last seen on the big screen, chalking up $40 million on opening weekend it seemed pretty obvious that a sequel would happen pretty quickly. But now finally word is out that development may begin soon on the next . Only this time is may be in the found footage genre.
According to /Film the producers have allegedly fielded a pitch to make the next outing a found footage style, but it's not confirmed. With the success of the Paranormal Activity franchise it's easy to see why the producers want to take that route.
The creator of the series, Sean S. Cunningham told FearNET said “There will be another Friday the 13th, which will probably get shot in the spring. If it all goes as I would like, it would then be released at the beginning of 2015.” What do you think, should the next Friday the 13th be in the style of found footage?
