As if fans couldn’t tell, Paul McCartney has a new album to promote and he’s been everywhere. A day after performing for the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts in Queens, New York, the former Beatle gave another special show in Times Square.

The only hint McCartney gave before the free afternoon show was a tweet sent barely an hour before the show. “Wow! Really excited to be playing New York Times Square at 1pm this afternoon!” he wrote. Less than a half an hour before the show, he sent another message that read, “Come on down to Times Square... It's all going to be happening there!”

According to The Associated Press, thousands of fans made it to the short show, which included just four songs. He only performed new songs from his latest album, New, which comes out on Tuesday.

He sang while performing at his colorful piano from a trailer parked at West 46th Street and Broadway.

The show came after his performance for students in Queens. While promoting New, McCartney has also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

New is McCartney’s first solo album of original material since 2007’s Memory Almost Full and follows his 2011 cover album Kisses on the Bottom.
