Taylor Swift is known for writing about her breakups in her songs and it seems one of her exes was fine with it. Swift briefly dated Jake Gyllenhaal for three months about three years ago and hinted in a recent interview that he had emailed her about the songs she wrote about him on her Red album.

She told New York Mag in their cover story about her that she’s "heard from the guy that most of Red is about” and he said it was like “going through a photo album.” Gyllenhaal is rumored to be the inspiration behind songs like “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “Red.”

“He was like, 'I just listened to the album, and that was a really bittersweet experience for me. It was like going through a photo album.' That was nice," she told the magazine, never mentioning names. "Nicer than, like, the ranting, crazy e-mails I got from this one dude."

She goes on to say, "It's a lot more mature way of looking at a love that was wonderful until it was terrible, and both people got hurt from it — but one of those people happened to be a songwriter. So what are you going to do? Did you not Wikipedia me before you called me up [for a date]?"

Us Weekly notes that Swift admits that she only writes songs about “crazy love” and won’t write a song about someone she didn’t necessarily click with.

She added, "I think that allowing yourself to feel raw, real emotions in public is something I am never going to be afraid to do. Hopefully that's the case, if I can remain a real human.”
