Beyonce keeps on making music history following the release of her surprise album.

The new self-titled album from Beyonce, has arrived at No. 1 on the Billboard top 200 charts. Mrs. Carter is the only female to have five No. 1 studio albums to reach the top spot.

The secret iTunes release sold over 617,000 copies through the week of Dec 15th. This is a record high for the pop star, her previous best week came with B'Day selling over 541,000 copies.

Apple announced that the diva's self-titled album is behind only Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience when it comes to 2013 album sales, reported CBS.

When it comes to singles in 2013, Mackelmore and Ryan Lewis took the top spot with their song, "Thrift Shop."

The album from Beyonce includes both audio and visual tracks for fans, the album is currently available on iTunes and must be purchased as a full album. Fans cannot download individual singles.
