Two signed Damien Hirst art works worth £33,000 have been stolen from a gallery in London, only four days after being displayed.

The works were stolen between 3am and 3:30 am on Monday and were taken from the Exhibitionist Gallery in Notting Hill.

According to The Guardian, police believe the raid was planned to target only Hirst works.

The stolen works, Pyronin Y and, both feature multi-colored dots.Pyronin Y, created in 2005, is the larger of the two and is valued at £15,000. Oleoylsarcosine was created in 2008 and is valued at £18,000.

According to BBC News, Gallery Manager Nathan Engelbreght was very disappointed when he received news of the break in. "We wanted Hirst to be in the Christmas show and to help raise our profile and to show people we can get the big names in, so it's a big hit and here's hoping insurance will cover it, if it doesn't it will probably take us under,” Engelbreght said.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said only one person carried out the theft and most likely left in a car. "The items would have been visible in the back of the car and we are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information to please come forward."
