Last night, Jack Johnson teamed up with The Roots on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform the Christmas classic “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”. Proceeds of the download here on iTunes go to benefit the Red Cross relief efforts in the Philippines.
The performance was as charming as you would imagine it could be. Sleigh bells, matching red Christmas sweaters and all, and of course Jack Johnson’s laid back acoustic styling’s bring “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” to new light. Johnson even threw his own ending to the story in, with even a bit more gratification for Rudolph while the other reindeer promise to try to change their ways.
Jack Johnson is coming off his latest studio release From Here To Now To You, where he was on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon back in September to promote the album as well as play a track off the album “Radiate”.
Johnson has been on the road touring since his last-minute fill in to headline Bonnaroo for Mumford and Sons, playing a series of small intimate venues of the USA and Europe. Seems Jack Johnson can be the icon for calm, cool, and collected.
