Jared Leto reacted to his Golden Globe nomination for his role in Dallas Buyers Club one day after taking the stage for a performance with his band Thirty Seconds to Mars.

Leto played a transgender drug addict who is HIV-positive in the buzzed about movie, which was his first in a number of years.

"I'm so happy!" he told People. "I haven't made a film in almost six years and to return to this kind of enthusiastic support is absolutely insane."

Not only did he get a Golden Globe nomination for his work opposite Matthew McConaughey and Jennifer Garner, but he also received a Screen Actor’s Guild award nod.

He said of a possible Oscar nomination, “I have a lock of Daniel Day-Lewis's hair and Marlon Brando's toenails as my good-luck charms. I figure that should do the trick. One in each pocket and I should be fine. No, I don't have any [good-luck charms]."

If he gets recognized by the Academy or not, Leto admits "I'm just happy to be a part of this celebration. It's been a journey and the best thing about the nomination is it shines a light on this little movie. I'm just the ambassador and it's an honor."
