Bruce Springsteen has notched his tench No. 1 album in the U.K. with his latest release, High Hopes. The album, which features new material mixed with outtakes from the past decade, helped The Boss move further up the list of acts with most U.K. No. 1 albums.
Springsteen now has 10 No. 1 albums in the U.K., a string of success that dates back to 1985’s Born in the U.S.A., notes Billboard. He is now tied with U2 and the Rolling Stones, who also have 10 each. The Beatles still hold the record with 15 No. 1 albums.
The Official Charts Company, which tracks U.K. music sales, puts Ellie Goulding’s Halcyon at No. 2, reports NME. Beyonce’s self-titled album came in at No. 3, while Bastille’s Bad Blood is at No. 4. Gary Barlow’s Since I Saw You Last rounded out the Top 5 on the album chart.
The best-selling single in the U.K. is currently Pharrell Williams’ “Happy,” which added another 118,000 copies sold. It has passed the 500,000 mark in the U.K. “Timber,” by Ke$ha and Pitbull, hit No.2.
