Florida Georgia Line had the hit of the summer with their song, "Cruise" and the duo has broken the all-time sales record for country music singles.

Billboard reported that the song has now sold over 6.33 million downloads, this makes "Cruise" the biggest-selling digital country song sine SoundScan began tracking digital sales back in 2003.

Sales of the single also increased when the duo released a remix featuring rapper and superstar, Nelly. The remix accounts for 39.5% of the track’s overall sales to date.

The previous record holder was Lady Antebellum with their emotional ballad, "Need You Now" which sold 6.27 million downloads.

The Boot added that "Cruise" started breaking records when it was released back in 2012. The country, rock single was at the top of the charts for 24 weeks. "Cruise" was the single that stayed at the top of the country charts for the longest amount of time in Billboard's chart history.

The duo's record label took to social media to congratulation fans and the band on their successes.
