French President Francois Hollande is considering legal action against Closer magazine after it made allegations he was having an affair.
According to Reuters, the president would sue for breach of privacy. "Francois Hollande greatly deplores the invasion of his privacy, to which he has a right as any other citizen does," a source from the president's office said.
The magazine published seven pages of photos from a Paris apartment block, which Closer used to support the affair story. The weekly tabloid did say it would be pulling the story from its website as per a request from the actress accused in the affair Julie Gayet's lawyer.
Closer claims the photos show Hollande and Gayet entering the apartment block, according to The Telegraph.
The tabloid wrote with the pictures, "It's a real passion that has ... turned their lives upside down and make them take insane risks."
Despite threatening to sue the tabloid, neither the French president nor his office have officially denied the allegations of the affair. Hollande is not married, but his partner Valerie Trierweiler did recently move into the palace where the president lives.
