The sequel to Ride Along will feature Kevin Hart and Ice Cube and will be produced by Universal.

The original film is the story of the security guard who joins his brother-in-law to police Atlanta. The action comedy features Ice Cube and Kevin Hart. Ride Along had great box office numbers for their opening weekend. The film brought in $48.6 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi is penning Ride Along 2. The producer will be Will Packer and Cube Vision. Tim Story will be directing the movie. The sequel is going to be action packed. The film will begin shooting in late June/early July, according to Deadline.

Kevin Hart was recently seen in About Last Night. He also was seen in This is the End, Grudge Match, The Five-Year Engagement. He has also been seen in the television series, Workaholics and Second Generation Wayans.

Ice Cube has appeared in the film, Boyz in the Hood. He has also been seen in Ride Along, 21 Jump Street, and in the television series, Are We There Yet?. He is known for his career as a recording artist, including hs work with N.W.A. and his 2003 album with Westside Connection, Bow Down.
