Paul Bettany’s voice is certainly familiar to Marvel fans, but now he’ll get to show his face. The voice of Tony Stark’s J.A.R.V.I.S. will play the android Vision in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The news was first reported by the Daily Mail, which spotted Bettany outside Shepperton studios, where the Avengers sequel is being filmed. The British actor and writer/director Joss Whedon did make-up, costume and hair tests. He also met with the production’s stuntmen.

As MTV News notes, Bettany has voiced Iron Man’s artificial intelligence companion since the first Iron Man film. He also provided the voice for The Avengers and the Iron Man sequels.

Clearly, Vision will be introduced in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a link to J.A.R.V.I.S. or maybe it’s just a coincidence that robots will have the same voice in the Marvel world. The character is not a new one and has been a member of the Avengers in the comics for decades.

Age of Ultron will introduce plenty more characters to the Marvel movies, including the Scarlet Witch, played by Elizabeth Olsen; Quicksilver, played by Aaron Taylor-Johnston; and the villain Ultron, voiced by James Spader.

The movie hits theaters on May 1, 2015.

Bettany will next be seen (and heard) in Transcendence with Johnny Depp.
