A Florida woman backed her car up into pedestrians Sunday morning at a country club.

According to the Bradenton Herald, the woman accidentally backed her vehicle into a group of people leaving the 11 a.m. church services.

A white Chevrolet Tahoe was driven by 79-year-old Doreen Landstra.

The Associated Press has reported that Landstra killed three people and seriously injured others who were standing in the clubhouse parking lot when she thought her car was in drive, not reverse.

"The vehicle made contact with several people as it went through the crowd and landed in the canal behind me," said Florida Highway Patrol's Brett Fitzpatrick.

One witness, who is a retired paramedic, assisted some of the victims until an ambulance arrived and said that a man “had a tire mark from his ankle all the way up to his rib cage.”

Landstra and her passenger husband were not hurt.

No charges have been filed, but Florida State Police are still investigating the accident.
