Broadway star Idina Menzel has signed on as the latest performer for the 86th Academy Awards. The Tony winner will perform “Let It Go,” the Oscar nominated song from Disney’s Frozen.

Producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron made the announcement Tuesday morning. It will be the first time that the song is performed for a global television audience.

While “Let It Go” is a frontrunner for the Best Original Song category, it does face some tough competition. The other three nominees are U2’s “Ordinary Love” from Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom; Her’s “Moon Song” by Spike Jonze and Karen O.; and Pharrell Williams’ Despicable Me 2 track “Happy.”

“Let It Go” was written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The film is also up for Best Animated Feature.

Menzel is a Tony winner for her performance in Wicked and was nominated for Rent. She will be back on Broadway in March with If/Then.

Williams has also signed on to perform at the Oscars. During Monday’s Oscars nominees luncheon, Bono said that U2 will perform “Ordinary Love,” but the Academy hasn’t officially announced that yet.

The Academy Awards are set for March 2 and will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres.
