A contest on the Jeopardy! Game Show has really been upsetting viewers with his style of play.
According to the Daily Mail, Arthur Chu’s unorthodox plays includes opting to take the high-stakes questions first instead of starting with easier ones and wagering just five bucks in a Daily Double for a category that he was not knowledgeable in.
If Chu’s picking off of the larger amounts then moving onto another category and leaving the board a mess, has frustrated fans of the show, just imagine how his fellow contestants must feel.
The 30-year-old has been dubbed as a ‘villain’ on Twitter by some viewers and has been called ‘unsportsmanlike’ because of his antics.
“Not giving my opponents a chance to answer, to me, is just like not giving your opponents the chance to shoot in basketball or not letting them get within range of the goal in soccer. It's not 'unsportsmanlike', it's playing defense,” he said.
Aol.com reported that the ‘mad genius’ or ‘villian’ researched past contestants in preparation for his appearance on the game show.
Another unconventional strategy of Chu’s is playing to tie, something he says he learned from former winner Keith Williams.
