An Ogden, Utah man is accused of killing a 16-year-old babysitter with an overdose before he and his wife disposed of the body.

According to the Associated Press, the trial began Wednesday against Eric Millerberg, the man accused of killing Alexis Rasmussen with a fatal dose of heroin and methamphetamine and then dumping her body in a ditch.

Prosecutors contend that the 38-year-old and his 40-year-old wife, Dea, had an inappropriate relationship with their children’s babysitter.
Millerberg is also charged with unlawful sexual conduct and both he and his wife are charged with desecration of a human body.

The Daily Mail noted that his wife is expected to testify against him this week, while awaiting her own trial that is set to begin in April. She has since filed for divorce.

Rasmussen died in 2011 after being given the lethal dose.

The Deseret News reported that Millerberg was stabbed over 20 times in July by his cellmate. The inmate has been charged with attempted murder.
