Aloe Blacc makes a strong debut on the R&B/Hip-Hop albums charts even though Rick Ross' Mastermind holds the top spot on the album charts.

Billboard reported that after Blacc had such incredible success with the single "Wake Me Up," which featured Avicii, his debut album had momentum before its release which resulted in selling 45,000 copies in its first week and taking the No. 2 spot on the Billboard charts.

Lift Your Spirit is Blacc's second appearance on the list. Back in 2010, he arrived at the No. 41 spot on the charts with his independent album Good Things. Good Things sold about 2,000 copies back in October of 2010.

The Hollywood Reporter added that Blacc is also being featured as a mentor on NBC's hit reality TV show The Voice. Blacc is working with Team Adam during the battle rounds.

Spirit features the hit singles "Wake Me Up" and his follow-up single "The Man." Blacc just released a new music video for "The Man." He will also be featured as an opening act on the upcoming Bruno Mars tour.
