Brian Littrell of Backstreet Boys fame has said in a new interview that his boy band is in talks with the Spice Girls to join forces to do an international tour.
Littrell told The Sun that two of arguably the biggest pop acts of the ‘90s are in “early talks” to join forces.
“We are actually in early talks about maybe doing a world tour together with the Spice Girls,” he said. The tour wouldn’t include “Posh Spice” Victoria Beckham, though, as she has publicly said she has retired from the group.
The last time the Spice Girls performed all together was during the Olympics closing ceremony in 2012 when the games were in London. Before that, their last performance together was in 2008, Music Times reports.
The Backstreet Boys, however, are currently on their World Like This Tour and they even extended it for North American dates with opening act Avril Lavigne this summer.
In December of 2013, Beckham confirmed she’s done with the Spice Girls. “It should have been the best moment of my life, but I just wanted to be elsewhere," she said of the group’s reunion tour in 2008. "It wasn't a lack of respect for the girls or the audience, but the passion just wasn't there. By contrast, in my new career, the passion grows every year. I still want more."
