Beyonce got emotional at the conclusion of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour after performing over 100 shows for her fans internationally.
The “Drunk in Love” singer, 32, started the tour on April 15, 2013 and extended it across North America, South America, Australia and Asia.
Beyonce’s last tour stop was in Portugal at the MEO Arena in Lisbon on Thursday night. When she started to cry, she told her fans she was showing them her “ugly cry.”
“I want a [spotlight]. I want them to see me. If you all don't know, tonight makes 132 shows. Tonight is the last show of the Mrs. Carter Show,” she said, E! Online reports. “
“We started a year ago and I want to say this has been such a journey. In the past year, we've been through so much together. The Super Bowl, shooting the videos, all of these shows.”
To put it in perspective, she said her daughter with husband Jay Z, Blue Ivy, “wasn’t even walking yet” when she first started the tour. “I just want you to know that I am so lucky,” she said.
The first 107 shows of the tour grossed $188.6 million, which has made it the highest grossing female tour of last year.
Huffington Post notes that’s not all she’s accomplished during the duration of the tour. Her self-titled album Beyonce, which she released as a surprise, made history.
