Alison Brie, one of the stars on NBC’s Community, has joined Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart in the comedy Get Hard.
The Warner Bros. project finds Ferrell as a wealthy investment banker who gets convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. While in prison, he meets up the guy who used to wash his car, played by comedian Hart, and he helps Ferrell get used to the prison world.
According to Deadline, which first reported the casting news, Brie has been cast to play Ferrell’s fiance.
The film is set to be the first film directed by Etan Cohen, who is best known as a writer on Ben Stiller’s Tropic Thunder and Men in Black III, reports HitFix. This will be produced under Ferrell’s Gary Sanchez Productions.
In addition to playing Annie Edison on Community, Brie can be seen on Mad Men as Pete’s estranged wife Trudy. She recently voiced a character in The LEGO Movie and her next film is Search Party, which pairs her with Krysten Ritter. That’s scheduled for release in September.
As for Hart, this film should be coming out before Ride Along 2 is released in January 2016.
