Malaysia Airlines announced it has lost contact with passenger flight MH370 and has not been able to communicate with the plane since. The airliner reports losing contact with the plane four hours prior to its scheduled arrival destination in Beijing, China. The plane is said to have 227 passengers, including 12 crew members and two infants.

Basketball Diaries director Scott Kalvert died on Wednesday at the age of 49. Kalvert was found in his Woodland Hills home, where the Los Angeles Coroner's Office reports a possible suicide. He was known as the director of the 1995 film Basketball Diaries, which starred Leonardo DiCaprio, and for films such as Deuces Wild and TV movie School Gyrls. Kalvert was also a well-respected music video director working with artists such as Marky Mark and The Funky Bunch (“Good Vibrations”) and DJ Jazzy Jeff and Will Smith (“Parents Just Don’t Understand.”)

Timbaland released a minute-long sample of Slave to the Rhythm, a track from the late Michael Jackson’s unreleased album. Timbaland started the project in August after he was approached by Antonio "L.A." Reid.

Fox Broadcasting Company has announced its list of shows returning next season. Those shows include Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Mindy Project, New Girl and The Following. This will be the fourth season for New Girl and the third for The Mindy Project.

After entering rehab in January for an eating disorder, Ke$ha has returned home with a positive attitude and inspired to change her name. The pop star has even changed her Twitter handle from @Keshasuxx to @KeshaRose and dropped the dollar sign.
