A wrongful post on the Internet doesn’t come cheap these days. After posting a status on Facebook about a termination settlement with Gulliver Preparatory, recent prep school grad, Dana Snay, cost her father $80,000.

The student’s father, Patrick Snay had originally sued the school for age discrimination. After winning $10,000 in back wages and an $80,000 settlement, Snay was sworn to also keep the deal a secret from his daughter in the agreement.

However Snay did not follow through with this condition and instead “needed to tell her something” with he “psychological scars,” reported Newser.

To make matters worse, Dana took to Facebook with her excitement saying, “Mama and Papa Snay won the case against Gulliver. Gulliver is now officially paying for my vacation to Europe this summer. SUCK IT.”

Due to the update, the school never paid the settlement because Snay did not follow through with the confidentiality agreement. On Wednesday an appeals court agreed with the judge citing,” Snay violated the agreement by doing exactly what he had promised not to do.”

Snay had to have known a post like that would be found on Facebook. As recently reported more Facebook posts are read throughout the day than the Bible.
