In the film's first day of release on DVD or Blu-ray, Frozen reportedly sold 3.2 million units according to Disney.
The Oscar-winning film had previously hit digital release platforms on Feb. 25, where it set the record of fastest-selling digital release of all-time, notes The Hollywood Reporter.
Everything involved in the holiday hit seems to be doing well as soundtrack sales for Frozen continue to be strong, with over 1.4 million copies sold and over 100 million plays on Spotify.
During its domestic theatrical run, which is still ongoing, the animated film earned over $396 million. Combined worldwide sales have the film over $1.032 billion.
Frozen under the adjusted title Anna to Yuki no Jou (Anna and the Snow Queen), recently opened strong in Japan. During the movie's opening weekend, it grossed $9.5 million.
The opening was strong enough to earn Frozen the top opening weekend for a foreign film in Japan. The film also opened much better than Disney's last animated film Brave, which only managed a low $1.4 million.
