A sixth grade Oklahoma girl has broken the previous selling record when she sold a whopping 18,107 boxes of Girl Scout cookies.
According to the Associated Press, Katie Francis of Oklahoma City said she asks everyone she meets to buy the cookies. Her strategy has worked because she beat the old record of around 18,000 boxes sold in the 1980s by Elizabeth Brinton.
With her mother by her side, the 12-year-old pushes her wagon full of the goodies, all over the city’s metro area.
"She's such a go-getter. She works countless hours," her mom DeLee Francis told USA TODAY.
The Girl Scout is committed to long hours during the seven-week selling period and last year she sold 12,428 boxes.
Francis wants to reach her goal of 20,000 boxes before sales end on March 30. In addition, she said she plans on selling 100,000 total boxes while with the troop, the same number the previous record holder sold before she called it a career.
