A Pittsburgh man has turned himself in to police after DNA evidence connected him to the deaths of two neighbors.
Allen Darell Wade, 43, was tied to the February 7 shooting deaths of Sarah Wolfe, 38, and her sister, Susan Wolfe, 44, by a trail of clues that he left.
The sisters were found in the basement of their Pittsburgh home, both shot once in the head. Susan Wolfe was naked, covered with bleach and liquid detergent while Sarah was dressed and had a blanket over her face. Sarah also had detergent poured over her body. It is believed that Sarah was likely killed after she returned home from work, according to the Daily Mail and Associated Press.
Sarah Wolfe’s empty purse was empty and IDs, credit and bank cards, keys and cellphones were missing from the home.
Authorities believe Wade asked the sisters for their bank information before killing them.
Surveillance video, which has been crucial in catching Wade, showed the man withdrawing $600 from the sisters’ bank with their bank cards and he was later found discarding a pair of bloody sweatpants behind a store, according to The New York Daily News.
The pants linked Wade to the Wolfes and DNA evidence beneath Susan Wolfe’s fingernails pointed to Wade.
After being interrogated for twelve hours and confronted with the evidence, Wade turned himself in.
“I would like for the world to know I am 100 percent innocent I would never ever in any way Hurt a person so brutally it is not in my nature I have always respected women and will always continue to do so I am being framed to take the fall for this case and hopefully justice will prevail !” Allen Wade, an ex-convict with a history of domestic violence and a bank robbery conviction, said on Facebook.
Sarah and Susan Wolfe were transplants to Pittsburgh from Iowa and are the sisters of Democratic state legislator Mary Wolfe, of Clinton, Iowa. Sarah Wolfe was a psychiatrist for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center's Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and Susan Wolfe was a teacher's aide at Hillel Academy.
Wade is in police custody and has been charged with homicide.
