AMC's The Walking Dead has taken over cable TV but before this zombie phenomenon took over the airwaves, it was originally started out as graphic novels and stand alone books.
The first novel series which was written by Walking Dead show creator Robert Kirkman and writer Jay Bonansinga, was widely successful and the duo are paired up again to write an additional four-part book series surrounding the Walking Dead universe, Entertainment Weekly reported.
The first novel in the series will be titled Descent and will be available for fans on Oct 14th. The novel will be published by Thomas Dunne Books/St. Martin’s Press, Variety reported.
The first book will tell the story of Lilly Caul, who has been featured in the original comic books. As a character she arrives at Woodbury and the story then unfolds. Caul is set to return to Woodbury following the governors take down of the city.
Kirkman spoke about the growing Walking Dead universe, "There is quite a bit of unexplored territory left in the “Walking Dead” universe and I think people are going to love what Jay brings to this world in this medium," said Kirkman.
