Marvel Studio's continues to dominate the box office with Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The film made over $10 million dollars at the box office for Thursday night showings and the film made $37 million on Friday, which puts the film on track to have the biggest opening in April for a feature film.
Sources are reporting that the movie is likely to break $95 to $100 million in total box office sales for the weekend, Variety reported.
Universal’s Fast Five holds the current record for largest release in April. Captain America is likely to break that record.
At the current rate of sales for this movie, it is likely to become one of Marvel's top grossing films, right behind Iron Man and The Avengers which is the highest grossing film of all time.
The last Marvel film Thor: The Dark World only grossed $86 million in its first weekend and in total brought in over $645 million worldwide.
Forbes reported that the first Captain America only reached $25.7 million when it debuted back in 2011. That was before the hype of The Avengers.
