The Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa is suing a professional Poker player, claiming that he cheated them out of $9.6 million.

According to NJ.com, Phillip Ivey Jr. reportedly cheating at the casino while playing at the Baccarat table back in 2012.
The casino claims Ivey used the patterns on the back of the cards to determine what card it was, a technique that is called “edge sorting.”

The Associated Press reports that Ivey insisted that his cards be shuffled in a machine and not by hand. The casino believes this is so the side that the card was facing would not be altered.

Ivey has won the World Series of Poker bracelet nine times. The lawsuit, filed at Britain’s High Court by the Malaysia-based Genting Group, is also claiming that, with the help of one other person, Ivey has gotten almost $12 million from the casino through cheating at baccarat.

Ivey declined to comment on Friday, but denies cheating at the casino.
