Oscar winner Holly Hunter has joined the cast of Warner Bros.’ currently untitled Man of Steel sequel, which will bring Batman and Superman together in one film. It will be directed by Zack Snyder and released in 2016.

Hunter isn’t the only new member of the cast the studio introduced today. 300: Rise of an Empire’s Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamoto of The Wolverine will also be in the film. All three will play new characters, although no further details were included in the announcement.

The Superman and Batman film will star Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman again, with Ben Affleck as a new version of Bruce Wayne/Batman. Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex Luthor and Oscar winner Jeremy Irons will play Alfred Pennyworth. Man of Steel trio Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will return and Gal Gadot will be Wonder Woman.

Back in January, Warner Bros. rescheduled the film for May 6, 2016.

Hunter is best known for her Oscar winning performance in The Piano and her work in Coen Brothers films O Brother, Where Art Thou? and Raising Arizona. She was recently seen in Top of the Lake.
