After a Pennsylvania teen was suspended from school for asking Miss America to prom, the beauty queen has spoken out against his punishment.

As TheCelebrityCafe.com reported, when Central York High School senior Patrick Farves asked Miss America Nina Davuluri to his prom, administrators were not happy and quickly suspended the young student. He popped the question during a school assembly with Miss America, who laughed and smiled but didn't give him an answer. Farves was given three days of in-school suspension for his romantic outburst, but claims it was never his intent to disrespect or embarrass the school. Farves was reportedly warned not to ask Miss America to prom.

Nina Davuluri took to the official Miss American Organization Facebook page to comment on Farves' punishment. "I was flattered by the gesture although I am unfortunately unable to attend due to my travel schedule," says Davuluri,"I later learned of the disciplinary action taken and reached out to the school in hopes that they will reconsider their decision."

No word yet on if Farves' school will lift his punishment. The Associated Press reports that the 18-year-old senior has already apologized for misbehaving.
