A Utah woman has been arrested on accusations of killing seven babies she gave birth to over 10 years ago. Police discovered the bodies of the infants each in different cardboard boxes in the garage of her previous home.
According to ABC News authorities received a phone call from a family member who is currently living in the home that Megan Huntsman moved out of in 2011. The family member notified the police when they found the first baby in the garage which they said "appeared to be at full term".
Capt. Michael Roberts told ABC News, "A family member was cleaning out the garage and came across a box that looked suspicious. Upon opening the box they found the infant inside."
Police obtained a search warrant and found six more infant bodies inside the garage upon the home inspection. Each of the bodies were packaged in different boxes. ABC News noted that authorities stated that they have probable reasons to believe Huntsman gave birth and murdered the infants.
FOX News reported that Huntsman apparently moved out several years ago and left her three older daughters to live in the house.
"What's shocking is the three older ones living there and not noticing that their mother was pregnant. It's shocking and kind of morbid and strange," neighbor Fred Newman said.
The residents of the home said they had no knowledge of the dead babies and could not confirm whether or not Huntmas had anymore children. Police arrested Huntsman on Saturday, but the case is still ongoing as investigators search for further information.
