Janelle Monae has announced that she will have to postpone her Australian tour due to an illness.

Monae had already cancelled her tour dates on Saturday in Melbourne and an additional date on Monday in Sydney but she wasn't able to continue with her tour. Tour promoter Live Nation Australasia announced that the rest of the tour would have to be cancelled.

Live Nation released a statement on behalf of the "Primetime" singer. “Due to Janelle Monáe’s continuing illness it has been confirmed that the remainder of ‘The Golden Electric Tour’ has been cancelled and there will be no rescheduled performances,” the brief statement explained, Billboard reported.

Even though the concerts would not be taking place, full refunds would be provided to anyone who had purchased tickets to the shows.

Noise 11 reported that after the cancellation of her May 17th show, the singer stayed in Melbourne under medical supervision to continue to help with her recovery.

The tour was supposed to feature both Monae and Kiwi artist Kimbra.
